Last year, Molecular Plant Pathology set up the fungal pathogens survey, asking to plant mycologists associated with the journal to vote the most important plant fungi in terms of scientific and/or economic interest.
On the base of nearly 500 votes they compiled the top 10 list of fungal pathogens:
Leaders in field were invited to write a short review on each fungus, and the resulting paper – Top 10 fungal pathogens in molecular plant pathology – was published in March 2012, and it is freely available to download from MPP website.
